A Look at CHC's New Emergency Room

The emergency room expansion of Chestnut Hill Hospital will be open Oct. 20.

With just a little more than a month left until the emergency room expansion opens, hospital CEO John Cacciamani’s excitement is palpable as he talks details of the layout.

With 22 private rooms in the emergency room- instead of curtained patient areas- the expansion offers visitors privacy, convenience, and above all, Cacciamani said, safety and quality.

  • Private rooms for patients
  • Separate bays for ambulances and patient drop-off
  • Two state-of-the-art emergency operating rooms
  • A large triage area
  • An expansive waiting room
  • A decontamination room for patients with hazardous materials

The emergency room expansion will host a community day Oct. 20, and will officially be in use starting Oct. 22.
