Join us for an exciting evening of opera as DVOC presents Gluck's revolutionary work, Orfeo Ed Euridice, based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and his journey in the underworld to rescue the woman he loves.&nbsp;
Opera in the mid 18th century was often puffed up with drawn out, convoluted plots, and overly complex music. Gluck wanted to strip all of that away, and present an elegant, simple blend of drama and music that didn't rely on these affectations.&nbsp;
The result is one of his most famous works, first performed in 1762, and still listed in the top 50 most frequently performed operas worldwide.
Free street parking is available. The Perch is convenient via train, including the subway from Somerset Station on the Market-Frankford Line and the York-Dauphin Station, both of which are accessible from 30th Street Station.

About Your Headliner: Rabbi Bob Alper, known as "America's only practicing clergyman who's also a stand-up comedian," has entertained audiences across the United States and abroad with his clean, intelligent humor. He has appeared at theaters, performing arts centers, corporate events, colleges and houses of worship of every denomination. Over the course of his career, Alper has performed with major comedy stars including Lewis Black, Susie Essman, and Mo Amer, further underscoring his presence in the national comedy scene while maintaining his signature style of thoughtful, accessible humor. Bob served as rabbi of Congregation Beth Or, Montgomery County, from 1978-1986, and led high holiiday services for Temple Micah, Glenside, for the next 34 years.

Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, spirited, soulful, enchanting, captivating, and intriguing – modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance.From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of “HOPAK” – the world’s most exciting ethnic dance, and every brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) and soulful folk song in between, experience the UKRAINIAN FOLK FESTIVAL 2026, celebrating the 35th anniversary of our ancestral homeland’s independence. Fully restored from 2018-2025 and features rooms decorated in different styles spanning the Rococo Revival to the Aesthetic Movement to the Edwardian period, the Museum was awarded the Victorian Society in America Award for the exemplary restoration and rehabilitation. This landmark preserves the legacy of the Grundy family and offers visitors a unique glimpse into life during the Victorian Era. The Museum’s extensive collection is highly unusual for a historic house museum as almost all the items belonged to the Grundy family. The museum serves as a cultural destination for those interested in antiques, local history, and architecture. Docents take visitors through the meticulously restored rooms, showcasing the elaborate furnishings and sharing stories of the Grundy family’s contributions to Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania, and national affairs.
