Feel the rhythm, flavor, and joy of summer – Latino style! Join us this July for a vibrant celebration with an outdoor concert performance of La Guagua 47 featuring the LaGuagua 47 Orchestra &amp; Singers, Latin food, dancing, a local merchant fair, balloons, and fun for all ages. 
La Guagua 47 is a one-of-a-kind community cultural production by Alba Martinez that tells a universal story of migration, belonging, and finding home in one another. Lucía is fifteen when her family loses everything and moves from the mountains of Puerto Rico to Philadelphia. She leaves behind her abuelita, her friends, and the only home she's known. Feeling invisible in a new city, she boards the 47 bus — and meets a chorus of neighbors whose stories open her world. La Guagua 47 is a bilingual Latino musical about what it takes to belong.
Public Transportation: Esperanza is located along SEPTA Bus Line 47.
Parking: Free parking available at 4th and Bristol 
Free and open to the public.

About Your Headliner: Gary Vider is a New York City based comedian who has made a name for himself in the national comedy scene. Most recently, Gary hosted “#1 Dad”, a new limited true crime / comedy podcast series from iHeartMedia, Will Ferrell’s Big Money Player Network, and Radio Point. Gary’s stand-up special “It Could Be Worse” recently premiered on his YouTube channel. His subtle style of humor took him all the way to the finals on season 10 of America’s Got Talent. His dry delivery has also earned him TV appearances on CONAN and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. His jokes have been published in the New York Times and Time Out NY Magazine. He was named a "Comic to Watch" by Esquire and was the winner of the 2014 Carolines on Broadway March Madness competition where he beat out 63 of the best young comedians. In early 2020, Gary released his debut comedy album, ‘Vider Las Vegas’.

PHILA, PA, July 8, 2026 – An award-winning book publisher announced a true “Philly Girl” search, inviting locals to nominate themselves or others. The search is for 2 winners who meet the following qualifications:
1)The Philly Girl must have been born or raised in the Philly area (suburbs around the city included).
2)The Philly Girl must have done something positive to change the world. She would be described as a trailblazer, a voice for justice, philanthropic, or an advocate.
The publisher of the new book, Philly Girl: Top 40 Women Who Have Changed the World, is searching for 2 more women to join the 38 already chosen. “We’re looking for the women who are well-known in their communities but may not be well-known to the world. Nominations can also include deceased women who made an incredible contribution that should be included in the book,” explained the publisher.
The women recognized in the book have varied professions in the fields of Entertainment, Justice, Healthcare, Philanthropy and Sports. Some were Trailblazers and others depict women’s role in History. 
Nominations are accepted online at <a href="https://phillygirlbook.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">PhillyGirlBook.com</a> until August 5th, 2026, 11:59pm EDT. There is a nominal fee of $5 which is non-refundable. Details can be found on the website.
Each winner (or nominator if nominee is deceased) will receive5 Printed Books, a Link to the press release announcing their win, and the ability to say “TOP 40 Philly Girl Search Winner” in their bio and personal/professional promotions.

Join us for an exciting evening of opera as DVOC presents Gluck's revolutionary work, Orfeo Ed Euridice, based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and his journey in the underworld to rescue the woman he loves.&nbsp;
Opera in the mid 18th century was often puffed up with drawn out, convoluted plots, and overly complex music. Gluck wanted to strip all of that away, and present an elegant, simple blend of drama and music that didn't rely on these affectations.&nbsp;
The result is one of his most famous works, first performed in 1762, and still listed in the top 50 most frequently performed operas worldwide.
Free street parking is available. The Perch is convenient via train, including the subway from Somerset Station on the Market-Frankford Line and the York-Dauphin Station, both of which are accessible from 30th Street Station.

Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, spirited, soulful, enchanting, captivating, and intriguing – modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance.From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of “HOPAK” – the world’s most exciting ethnic dance, and every brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) and soulful folk song in between, experience the UKRAINIAN FOLK FESTIVAL 2026, celebrating the 35th anniversary of our ancestral homeland’s independence.
