About Your Headliner: Rabbi Bob Alper, known as "America's only practicing clergyman who's also a stand-up comedian," has entertained audiences across the United States and abroad with his clean, intelligent humor. He has appeared at theaters, performing arts centers, corporate events, colleges and houses of worship of every denomination. Over the course of his career, Alper has performed with major comedy stars including Lewis Black, Susie Essman, and Mo Amer, further underscoring his presence in the national comedy scene while maintaining his signature style of thoughtful, accessible humor. Bob served as rabbi of Congregation Beth Or, Montgomery County, from 1978-1986, and led high holiiday services for Temple Micah, Glenside, for the next 34 years.
