Chestnut Hill-Mt. Airy Area Police Captain Promoted to PPD Public Information Office: Report

Captain John Hearn will be the 14th District's new captain.

A Philadelphia Police Captain in the 14th District, which encompasses Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy, has been promoted to the department's public information office.

Captain Sekou Kinebrew began his new position as commanding officer of public affairs and social media and public information officer of the Philadelphia Police Department on March 7, according t0 Chesnut Hill Local.

"I cherish my experiences in the 14th District and the relationships that I’ve made both with my external stakeholders and my internal partners as well," Kinebrew told Chestnut Hill Local in a recent interview. "I am excited for the new challenge and I look forward to that as well."

Captain John Hearn will be the 14th District's new captain, the outlet reports.

Hearn previously served as a sergeant and a lieutenant in the 14th District and also served on the Highway Patrol Unit, a special unit of the Police Department that coordinates safety for major city events

Kinebrew told the outlet he was “constantly proud of the way” his officers displayed “compassion, courtesy, and sincerity when interacting with the public, even in these most challenging of times.”
