Chestnut Hill Noise Dispute Goes Downtown
A local business owner is taking his complaints to the city's zoning board.

What started as a new business entering Chestnut Hill has evolved into a dispute that is spilling over into Center City.
Michael Mendlow, a Chestnut Hill dentist, will appear before the city's Zoning Board of Appeal on Wednesday to protest a zoning permit that allowed Maplewood Music Studio to open next door to his practice on Germantown Avenue.
According to the release posted on the zoning board's website, Mendlow's appeal is based on "noise coming from the business" that is "disrupting [his] business and causing [him] to have to leave [his] office and dismiss patients."

This isn't the first time Mendlow and Maplewood Music have had this particular issue. Mendlow appeared before the CHCA's planning and zoning committee in September and raised his concerns.
The zoning hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. at city's zoning office at 1515 Arch Street.
