Child Luring Incident In Chestnut Hill Area Under Investigation

A 15-year-old girl was out for a morning run when the incident occurred in Wyndmoor, just outside of Chestnut Hill.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA – Police are investigating an attempted child luring incident just outside the Chestnut Hill area this week.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning at around 7:30 a.m. in Wyndmoor near Carlisle Road and Patton Road, the Springfield Township Police Department said.

The suspect, a 30 to 40-year-old Hispanic man with a short goatee, called out to the girl as she ran and made "several attempts" to lure her inside the vehicle, authorities said.

The man followed the girl, aged 15, for about a quarter mile as she ran home, according to police.

The girl's father ran home to the sound of screeching tires out front as the man fled the scene, police said.

He was driving a black crossover-type SUV with a spare tire on the back.
