Crash Claims Man's Life Tuesday: Philadelphia Police

The 77-year-old driver died less than an hour after crashing his vehicle.

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – A 77-year-old man died after crashing a vehicle Tuesday afternoon near Mt. Airy in Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Police.

Police said the crash happened at about 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, April 25 on the 8200 block of Michener Avenue.

The driver was heading south on Michener Avenue when he struck a parked car, then a tree, police said.

The vehicle came to rest on the sidewalk of 8241 Michener Ave., police said.

The driver was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center after medics performed CPR in the ambulance, police said.

At 5:15 p.m., the driver was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police said the crash is under investigation, and 6ABC reports police are looking into whether the driver suffered a heart attack before the crash.
