Election Reactions: Andrew Lofton

City Council candidate Andrew Lofton reacts to primary election results.

Andrew Lofton's post-election party was short lived Tuesday, as he lost to Cindy Bass by well over 30 percent of the vote. Lofton chose to hold his party in the Black Pearl restaurant at 7200 Germantown Avenue, just across the street from rival Bass' party. Lofton spent his day canvassing polling places and "being a father" picking up his children from school.

"Overall, I'm not disappointed with the process," Lofton said. "I'm not disappointed with my run, but I still believe the system needs to be fixed."

Lofton continued by saying that his biggest fear is that career politicians will perpetuate more of the same policies that may have led to voter apathy in the 8th district and the city in general. Despite his loss, Lofton keeps a positive outlook on the results.
