TIME magazine each year taps a "Person of the Year." And Gritty has injected himself into the discussion. We say yes, please.

PHILADELPHIA – Each year, TIME magazine picks a Person of the Year. And this year, Philly's newest mascot is crashing the party.
TIME posted a tweet Tuesday asking readers to cast votes on the 2018 Person of the Year.
In true Gritty fashion, the orange mascot chimed in.

Gritty replied to TIME's tweet with a video of himself featured on the magazine's cover. In the video "TIME" changes to "IT ME."
Now, we don't like to include personal opinions in stories, but it's hard to argue figures such as Elon Musk, Michele Obama, Sen. Jeff Flake, Megan Markle, and others captured the hearts of the nation like Gritty did.

So here at Philly Patch, we fully support Gritty's bid for Time's Person of the Year, but sadly he's not actually in the running.
