Heritage: A Group Exhibition Commemorating the Historic Visit of Pope Francis I
Artists' Reception at Borelli's Chestnut Hill Gallery September 19th 6-8pm, Featuring: John A. Benigno, Michael Ciliberti, Jim Dessicino

In celebration of Pope Francis I’s visit to Philadelphia, Borelli’s Chestnut Hill Gallery presents an array of artists of Italian descent from the Greater Philadelphia Area. Through this exhibition, we aim to promote and preserve the culture, language, and heritage of Italians worldwide. Coinciding with the historic visit of the Pope from Vatican City in Italy, we are striving to highlight the Italian talent that our city has to offer. All works of art will be for sale, including pieces by Michael Ciliberti, John A. Benigno, and Jim Dessicino.
John A. Benigno is a local photographer whose work is including in the collections of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum at Ursinus College, Rosemont College at Villanova University, and the Woodmere Art Museum, as well as other institutions outside the region. “My real interest is to capture timeless moments in the landscape, and, if the land has been influenced by man, to stimulate curiosity about how, when and why,” says Benigno, who was the former president of the Philadelphia/Tri-State Artists Association.
A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Michael Ciliberti has been with Borelli’s Chestnut Hill Gallery for about 10 years and now joins us in another group exhibition. A regularly shown artist, Ciliberti has exhibited throughout the region. His beautiful and intricate landscapes reflect a true love of his surroundings.

Dessicino is currently a resident artist at Philadelphia’s Sculpture Gym.
The artists will join the Chestnut Hill Gallery for an opening reception September 19th, from 6 to 8 pm. All works will be on display and for sale through October 5th.
