Juneteenth Book Event with Author Drew Hart
Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust will host theologian and blogger Drew Hart for a reading, discussion, and book signing on Saturday, June

In conjunction with the Juneteenth celebration in Historic Germantown, Drew will engage race and faith in a framework connected to Germantown's abolitionist history. In his provocative new book, Trouble I've Seen: Changing the Way the Church Views Racism, "Hart places police brutality, mass incarceration, antiblack stereotypes, poverty, and everyday acts of racism within the larger framework of white supremacy...and offers concrete practices for churches that seek solidarity with the oppressed and are committed to racial justice."
Copies of the book will be available for purchase in advance and at the event, and Drew will be signing books after the talk. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free, but registration is appreciated. Visit gmhtjuneteenth.eventbrite.com for tickets, books, and more.
Drew G. I. Hart is a teacher, author, and activist who also serves on the board of GMHT.
