Knife-Wielding Man Robs Wireless Store Saturday: Philly Police

PHILADELPHIA – Police are searching for a knife-wielding robber who targeted a wireless store in Stenton over the weekend.

At about 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, a man entered the Cricket Wireless store located at 8201 Stenton Ave. and acted as if to be shopping for a phone, according to police.

Suddenly he rushed behind the counter, pulled out a knife and demanded all the money from the cash register, police said.

The employee opened the register at which time the suspect took $418, police said.

He fled the store on foot towards Stenton Avenue, police said.

No injuries were reported as a result of this robbery, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early to mid 20s with a medium complexion, medium build, and a goatee. He was wearing a gray baseball cap, dark hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and black/white sneakers.

If you see this suspect do not approach as he is armed with a knife. Contact 911 immediately if he is spotted.
