Man Arrested For Attempted Rape In Philadelphia: Police

Police said the 38-year-old Philadelphia man tired to rape someone on Jan. 2 and was arrested hours later.

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia man was arrested for trying to rape someone on Jan. 2, according to Philadelphia Police.

Police said Ariel Hernandez, 38, was arrested the afternoon of Jan. 2 after allegedly trying to sexually assault someone on the 6900 block of York Road the same day.

Hernandez is charged with attempt to commit rape, indecent assault, and simple assault.

He was held on 10 percent of $250,000 bail set at his Jan. 3 preliminary arraignment, court records show.

Hernandez is slated for a Jan. 17 preliminary hearing, according to court documents.
