Man Killed After Mt Airy Shooting Monday Night

Police said a man was shot in the head, chest, and wrist in Mt. Airy Monday night.

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — A shooting in Mt. Airy left one person dead Monday night, according to police.

A 48-year-old man died Monday night after being shot multiple times at about 9:27 p.m. on the 7400 block of Devon Street, police said.

Police identified the victim as Fahim Abdul-Raheem, of the 1100 block of East Stafford Street.

Abdul-Raheem suffered gunshot wounds to the head, chest and wrist.

He was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center at 9:46 p.m.

Police described the shooter as a black man with a thin build standing 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall who was wearing a white shirt, dark shorts.

He was last seen running north on Devon Street then westbound on Gowan Avenue, police said.
