Man Sexually Assaults Elderly Woman In Philly Home Invasion: Cops

He got into a 71-year-old woman's home and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. He was also seen on camera trying to get in other homes.

PHILADELPHIA – A 71-year-old woman was sexually assaulted inside her home during the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 11 and Philadelphia Police are searching for the attacker.

Police said the attack occurred at about 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday at the victim's home on the 6400 block of North 11th Street.

A man got inside the home and the victim was sleeping on the couch when she awoke to find him standing over her, police said.

The man then sexually assaulted her and she then screamed, causing the man to flee the residence on foot towards Chelten Avenue, police said.

Nothing was taken and no injuries were reported, according to police.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video attempting to get inside additional homes in the area, along with several vehicles, police said.

Police described the suspect as a black or Hispanic man 18 to 24 years old with a light to medium complexion and a thin build.

He had braided hair that was tied into a bun at the back of his head and a goatee with a light mustache.

Police said he was wearing a T-shirt with a logo of a boxer and wording on the back, cargo short, and sneakers. He also has tattoos on his right bicep and left forearm, police said.
