Man Sexually Assaults Woman At Gunpoint In North Philly: Police

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Police are looking for a person of interest in a gunpoint sexual assault case that occurred in North Philadelphia last week.

Police said at about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7 a 30-year-old woman was in her home on the first block of East Johnson Street when a man entered the home through the basement.

The suspect pulled out a silver handgun and then sexually assaulted the victim, police said.

He stole the woman's iPhone 6 Plus and fled the area, heading north on Morton Street from Johnson Street, police said.

The victim's cellphone was later found by a passerby at Morton and Johnson streets, according to police.

He is described as a black man in his 30 with a beard, black eyeglasses, a thin build, and multiple tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a light Gray T-shirt with "WINNER" written on the front, and a black baseball cap with a red circle decal.

Do not approach the suspect if he is seen and instead call 911.
