Man Shot To Death 'Execution Style' In East Mt Airy Tuesday Night

The fatal shooting that left a 28-year-old East Mt. Airy man dead was done "execution style," according to reports.

EAST MT AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Police said 28-year-old man died after being shot multiple times in what reports say was an "execution" Tuesday night in East Mt. Airy.

Police said Hafiz Hendricks, 28, of the 800 block of Vernon Road, was shot to death Tuesday night at about 10:30 p.m. on the very same block he lives in.

Officers arrived to the 800 block of Vernon and found Hendricks suffering from multiple gunshots to his upper torso. He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:49 p.m., police said.

Police have not determined a motive and have not made arrests in connection with the shooting yet.

Action News reports Hendricks appeared to have been shot by two different guns at close range in an "execution" type incident.

Hendricks' girlfriend and daughters were in his apartment just feet away when the shooting occurred, according to Fox29.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
