MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — Pizza is always pretty good no matter where it's from. But here in the Philly region, we have some stellar pizza joints that are a cut above many others.
Philadelphia Magazine, as it is wont to do, crafted a list of the best places to get a slice or pie in the city, and a popular Mt. Airy spot was featured.
Earth Bread + Brewery on Germantown Avenue was listed in the publication's round up of "The Best Pizza In Philadelphia."

While the popular eatery doesn't outright serve classic pies, they do serve up flatbreads cooked in wood-fired oven, so basically pizza.

Flatbreads are what they serve here. But really, what are flatbreads but long, thin-crust pizzas? These are done in a wood-fired oven, and in variations mostly recognizable as pizza. But the best ones are wilder, like the Nashville Hot Chicken topped with fried chicken, brown sugar hot sauce, fontina, pickles, and a swirl of buttermilk ranch dressing.
