Outdoor Art Contest Returning To Chestnut Hill
Artists will converge on Chestnut Hill to create unique works of art in just five hours Saturday, June 10 along Germantown Avenue.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia's Garden District will also take on some art duties soon, as the Third Annual Plein Art outdoor art competition will be coming to Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill.
On Saturday, June 10 at 10 a.m., artists from all over will converge on Germantown Avenue to create a unique piece of art that is inspired by the Chestnut Hill neighborhood in just five hours.
Artists, easels and paint palettes will line Germantown Avenue as they create works of art, compete for cash prizes and a free booth space at the Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival in October.

Other activities for the day include arts and crafts, face painting and live music.
In the event of inclement weather – Weather.com is calling for partly cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of precipitation and an 81-degree high – the competition will be moved to Sunday, June 11.

Chestnut Hill is also host to a plethora of independent art galleries, a new art supply shop, thriving artists and Woodmere Art Museum (which features local art and artists housed in a 19th-century stone Victorian mansion).
This creative community provides a unique backdrop for the artists of Plein Air.
