Philly Woman Busted For South Jersey Bank Robbery: Police

A 44-year-old Philadelphia woman is accused of stealing $1,400 from a bank in Evesham Township in New Jersey.

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia woman has been arrested after police say she robbed a Burlington County bank of $1,400.

Evesham Township police were summoned to the Wells Fargo Bank at 501 West Route 70 at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning for a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.

They were told that a woman wearing a poncho had walked into the bank and demanded money from the teller.

After receiving $1,400 in cash, she fled the bank on foot.

Police established a perimeter around the scene and were able to find a woman matching that description walking on Route 70.

As an officer approached her, he said he saw a large amount of money hanging out of her front sweatshirt pocket.

Police have identified the woman as Elnora Brown, 44, of Philadelphia. She was arrested and police said they recovered all the money.

Officers then found her car in the parking lot of a nearby business and impounded it, pending the execution of a search warrant, police said.

Brown was charged with second-degree robbery and lodged in Burlington County Jail without bail.
