Rudnick Reacts to 8th District Defeat
The Independent candidate and his supporters waited for results at McMenamin's in Mt. Airy.

“I’m questioning the results, because when we talked to people at the polls there was a lot more positive reaction,” Rudnick, an Independent candidate, said.
With 78.6 percent of precincts reporting, held 87.7 percent of the votes as of 10:30 p.m. Rudnick acknowledged earlier in the night that he was far behind the Democratic nominee for the seat.

As the results became clear, though, Rudnick’s supporters began clearing out of McMenamin’s Tavern, where they waited for news on the municipal election. Rudnick spoke of his plans for the future.
“Maybe there is another office out there that I’d like to run for. For right now, though, I think I will take a break,” Rudnick said.

When asked if he learned any lessons from this campaign to apply to any future runs for office, Rudnick added, “I don’t know. I’ll have to get back to you.”
