Rudnick Requests Investigation Into Vote Totals

He also said he won't concede to Cindy Bass.

Brian Rudnick said Wednesday he won't concede the 8th Councilmanic District race to Cindy Bass and has requested an investigation into the election results.

. With 98.3 percent of precincts reporting, she leads Rudnick by a measure of 88.1 percent to 11.8 percent.

Rudnick, however, and said in a blog post Wednesday that he still won't do so.

In the post, titled "The campaign for truth and social justice continues," Rudnick also said he has filed a request for an investigation into the vote totals with the District Attorney's office.

"Our experience in the field yesterday as reported back to me from pollworkers and from personally visiting many of the polls from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. was that we were doing very well," Rudnick wrote. "So I’m not sure how or even if she got the number of votes that’s been reported. I haven’t yet investigated how one verifies results in an electronic voting system such as ours—I mean, where do you even begin to look for the hanging chads?"

Rudnick registered the complaint with the DA's office by leaving a voicemail, which he posted to YouTube. He said he wanted assurance that the results were accurate.

"I'm asking you to investigate to ensure that the election was fair," he said.
