State Rep. Cherelle Parker to Appear in Court

Parker was arrested for driving under the influence last month.

State Rep. Cherelle Parker will appear at the Philadelphia Municipal Court's Criminal Justice Center Wednesday morning for an arraignment.

Parker . She was arraigned soon afterward, but she was scheduled all along to reappear in court Wednesday.

And that time has come. Parker will appear at 1301 Filbert St. in Room 404 for a hearing scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

Her attorney, Joseph Kelly, previously said the appearance will be a status hearing of sorts.

Parker was given two chemical breath tests after she was pulled over and arrested for driving under the influence in the early hours of May 1, according to police.

The legislator, who represents Chestnut Hill, was placed under arrest on the 5800 block of Baynton Street in Germantown after driving the wrong way down a one-way street nearby, police said. Baynton Street is not a one-way.

The state representative was given the two chemical breath tests at police headquarters at 750 Race St. later on the morning of May 1. The results of the tests were not released, but Parker was eventually let go after her arraignment.
