Temple U Breaks PB&J World Record

Temple students make over 49,000 sandwiches in one hour, distributed sandwiches to are food banks.

It certainly was peanut butter and jelly time at Temple University Monday, where more than 1,100 student volunteers broke a Guiness World Record for a good cause.

Temple students put their skills together to make 49,100 sandwiches in an hour.

Students gathered at the university's Liacouras Center, where they crushed the previous record of 39,303 sandwiches, which was earned by Winsight and Which Wich at the Gaylord Texan Resort, Grapevine, Texas, this June according to Guiness World Records.

The sandwiches were all distributed to food banks in the Philadelphia area.
