Two Killed In Mt. Airy Shooting Thursday Night

Report say the 24 and 23 year old men were brothers.

Two men are dead after a shooting Thursday night in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia, police said.

A 24 year old and a 23 year old were both shot on the 300 block of East Upal Street, police said.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting report in the area at about 10:43 p.m. and found the victims.

The both suffered a gunshot wounds to the chest and right side, police said.

Both were transported to the Albert Einstein Medical Ccenter were the 24 year old and 23 year old were pronounced dead at 11 p.m. and 11:23 p.m, respectively, according to police.

6ABC reports the victims were brothers who were staying at a family member's home in the area when a possible neighborhood dispute led to the shooting.

The outlet also reports police found seven shell casings at the scene and said they were fired from a semi automatic weapon.

Police did not release the victim's names and said the shooting is being investigated by the police Homicide Unit.
