• Rescue dogs to join Pittsburgh-area urban search team (timesonline.com) — Clairton residents may be reassured to know the regional urban search and rescue team that responded to the fatal Clairton Coke Works explosion is adding specially trained rescue dogs based in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Backed by a $6 million state grant still awaiting disbursement, the Pittsburgh-sponsored task force is working toward higher accreditation, more equipment, and up to 150 members to better handle future structural collapses across the region.
