Residents used the special meeting to criticize repeated transparency issues, from improper executive sessions to limited public comment access, before council unanimously confirmed Bodle to serve the remainder of the term through 2027.

American Legion Hosts 102nd Birthday for Local Veteran Rose Smith (gantnews.com) — Clearfield’s John Lewis Shade American Legion Post 6 just celebrated longtime member Rose Smith, who turns 102 on July 19 and once co-owned Smith Furniture downtown. A 1942 Clearfield High School graduate and Navy WAVES veteran, she returned after service to raise a large family and remain an active, familiar presence in the community.
   

3. How new state budget will made impacts in our area (wjactv.com) — Pennsylvania’s new $50.8 billion state budget includes about $10 million in highway project funding earmarked for Clearfield, alongside major allocations for neighboring Cambria and Centre counties. Lawmakers say the plan boosts K–12 schools, infrastructure and housing incentives without raising taxes, while also delivering long-awaited cost-of-living increases for some retired public workers.
   

4. Explore Jefferson: 814 PredHunters Says It Can Help Police. Courts and Prosecutors Are Still Sorting Out How.
