Cranberry AutoZone Now Open For Business

Cranberry area residents now have another place to grab parts for their cars.

After months of construction, opened last Wednesday.

AutoZone spokesman Ray Pohlman said employees will dispense trustworthy advice, as well as automobile parts, to customers in the 8,000-square-foot store.

“Our sweet spot is the do-it-yourself customer,” he said

Pohlman said AutoZone is the leading national retailer and distributer of automotive replacement parts, accessories and chemicals. He added the store in Cranberry will employ about 10 people.

The AutoZone property once held a (which has since moved to a new location on Route 19) and the Reasy Laundromat. That building was demolished to make way for the auto parts store.

Pohlman said AutoZone plans to open about 150 new stores across the country this year. He attributed the company's growth to more people holding on to their cars in difficult economic times.

This requires preventative maintenance to the older cars as well as repairs when something goes wrong with the vehicle, Pohlman said.

“That’ been very good news for us and the products and services that we provide,” he said.  

The location in Cranberry joins 22 other AutoZone stores in western Pennsylvania, Pohlman said.
