Fatal Shooting Outside Of Pitssburgh-Area Lowe's: Latest Info

A Pittsburgh-area woman is accused of fatally shooting someone in a premediated act outside of a home improvement store.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A suspect in a fatal shooting in the Pittsburgh area is in custody after turning herself into authorities on Tuesday.

Police said that Taneesha Lynn Teague surrendered at the police department in Heritage, Mercer County, just before 1 p.m.

Teague, 32, is from West Middlesex in Shenango Township in Mercer County.

According to WKBN-TV, Teague was reportedly outside of a Lowe’s store with another woman and a man on Monday. Reports said that Teague shot the man, Salim Basalat, hitting him in the arm and abdomen.

Basalat, 36, was fatally wounded.

Teague originally was charged with attempted homicide, but now has been charged with first-degree murder.

Teague also faces two counts of aggravated assault and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.

According to WFMJ-TV, Teague had broken up with her former romantic partner, Tiffany Ray Sutton, 32, but still lived with her.

While Basalat stood outside his vehicle talking with Sutton and her daughter outside of Lowe's, Teague allegedly approached and fired a handgun.

Basalat was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
