Me & My Blog

A brief introduction to my life, my blog, and myself.

Yesterday, I was a Kid in High School Who Liked Writing. Today, it seems, I am a Writer.

Or maybe just a Blogger. But still. It's a step up.

Maybe you'd like some background on this Blogger:

I'm a junior at Seneca Valley, and I'm mostly enjoying my stay there. I read, but not as much as I should; and I watch TV and movies, much more than I should. Recently I realized that I want to go into film or TV production, which gives me a decent excuse to stay on my couch and stare at the screen some more. But hey, I could be doing drugs or something, so don't judge me too harshly. All this watching leads to a wealth of information about pop culture, which in turn leads to me saying random lines from movies and TV shows and giggling to myself a lot. Some of my friends and most of my family have learned to ask, "Where was that one from?" a lot, which is kind of insulting when I made up something witty on my own. But mostly I'm normal. Honest to blog! That last one was from Juno. Good movie, but really irritating phrase.

Beyond being a pop culture nerd, I'm also a nerd in general. Model United Nations, Mock Trial, Speech and Debate/Forensics, Academic Games... these are my clubs. Perhaps I'm compensating for a God-given lack of athletic ability. Perhaps I just want to feel cool in comparison to some of the people there. Either way, I have fun in them, and maybe they'll help me later in life. Or not so later. Colleges, take note! I'm involved!

All this, however, does not exactly explain why I'm here. I was actually just stalling for time, because I'm not exactly sure why I'm here either. I think it just boils down to that a) My mom pointed this out to me (hi, mom!), b) I like writing but have never really had a venue for it, and c) I have a voice and ideas that I think are interesting and unique. I could be wrong about that last one, but you never know until you try, right?

So look here in the future to hear about my adventures navigating high school, meditations on pop culture (I told you I love it), and random anecdotes from my life. From a Blogger to a Reader, I'd really appreciate it.
