New Spin on an Old Craft

I saw something interesting this week, rag rugs made on a loom. The process is simple and the rugs are light weight and easy to care for. A far cry from the heavy wool brained rugs our great grandmothers made.

The Little Foot Quilt Shoppe in Evans City, has a loom set up for demonstrations. They also sell a book that explains step by step how to weave a rag rug. The book also contains simple diagrams for building you own a loom.

These rag rugs are so charming and colorful, that when you see one you will want to jump in and make one. . .two, maybe three, yourself. They are that darn cute!
