Cranberry Resident Lands Prominent Position At Pitt
John Riley takes on an important new role at Pitt's Katz Graduate School of Business.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Cranberry resident John Riley has been named director of recruiting for executive and professional programs at the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
In his new position, Riley will focus on building awareness for Katz programs and identifying recruiting opportunities based on the program’s resources and network of alumni and faculty who are global leaders in their fields
“John’s experience as an entrepreneur himself and his familiarity with the inner workings of various industries – as well as the Katz School and the University as a whole – will enable him to develop relationships and expand on our already impressive network of faculty, alumni and corporate contacts,” said William T. Valenta, assistant dean of Katz MBA and executive programs.
Riley has previous experience at companies such as IBM Corporation and Smith & Nephew and Genuity. As a founding partner of DSK Equity, Riley is familiar with the medical device, software as a service, energy, internet infrastructure, hardware and professional services sectors.
“Because of the many innovators and thought leaders at the University, and in executive leadership positions around Pittsburgh, our region is becoming a global leader in fields like public health, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and many others,” Riley said. “That talent should be a great attraction to candidates for our executive and professional programs.”
