Cranberry Water Rates To Rise

Find out here how much more you'll pay.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Prepare to pay more for your water. A rate hike will take effect Sept. 27 thanks to a 31 percent price increase by the West View Water Authority, the township’s sole supplier of fresh water.

For homes serviced by five-eighths inch supply lines, the most common size, the township’s base rate for water service will increase from $6 to $7 per month, while usage rates will rise from $6.48 to $7.47 per thousand gallons. That’s still cheaper than many other water systems; Pennsylvania American Water, which serves many other communities in the region, charges $16.50 a month for a five-eighths inch line.

The West View Water Authority will use proceeds from the rate hike to build a new water treatment plant.
