Crowds Line Up in Cranberry For Debut of iPhone 4S
Sales opened at the AT&T store Friday morning.
The wet weather wasn’t enough to stop a crowd from lining up outside on Friday morning for the debut of the iPhone 4S.
As the doors opened at 8 a.m., about 15 people entered the store. Among them was Don “Ducky” Restouri. A self-confessed gadget geek, the Cranberry Township resident said he couldn’t wait to get his hands on the latest Apple product.
“I’ve been invested in Apple for 20 years,” he said. “I’ve gotten pretty much every iPhone they’ve had.”

The 4S—Apple’s latest iPhone—is touted as being faster then its predecessors, with better software and an improved camera. It also introduces “Siri,” an application that allows users to send messages, schedule meetings and place phone calls using voice commands.
Restouri said he thinks Siri will be particularly handy during car rides because he won’t have to take his eyes from the road or use his fingers to check his phone.

Larry Evans, vice president and general manager of AT&T in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, said the iPhone 4S is available in about 30 AT&T stores across the greater Pittsburgh area.
Although the Cranberry store was full, a few branches had lines of people stretching out the door, Evans said.
“This was one of our lighter lines,” he said.
He added employees have been swamped with phone calls for a least a month regarding iPhone sales prior to Friday. Pricing for the iPhone 4S starts at $199.99
