Elderly Man Struck And Killed By Car In Cranberry
The fatal accident occurred on Route 19, police said.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - An elderly man was stuck and killed by a car Sunday while attempting to cross Route 19 at St. Francis Way with his wife. Police identified the victim as Thomas Jarzab, 77, of Oil City.
According to police,. Jarzab was wearing dark clothing and attempted to cross Route 19 at an area where pedestrians are prohibited from crossing. The driver of the vehicle tried to avoid striking . Jarzab and narrowly missed his wife.
Jarzab was initially transported to UPMC- Cranberry before being taken by medical helicopter to UPMC-Mercy, where died.
