Disaster Recovery Workshop

PITTSBURGH – DQE Communications – southwestern Pennsylvania’s leader in fiber-optic data network solutions – is joining three other top local technology firms to host a disaster recovery workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Four Points Sheraton in Cranberry Twp. Another installment of the workshop will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Southpointe Golf Club.

Other host firms include Data Recovery Services LLC (the region’s premier provider of cloud computing, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions), VMware (a prominent virtualization software vendor) and EMC (a leading data storage solutions provider). The events will focus on the importance of a disaster recovery plan and how changes in technology have made these plans more affordable.

“Natural disasters, such as a power outage caused by strong storms, or ‘IT disasters”, such as a massive network failure, can wipe out irreplaceable data and literally destroy a successful business,” said Lisa Williams, manager of Marketing and Wholesale Services for DQE Communications. “Understandably, companies of all sizes often are concerned about how their crucial information can be stored and recovered following a disaster.  These workshops are designed to provide affordable business continuity information and solutions for mid-market companies.”
