Metcalfe Rails Against `Liberal Loser Democratic Legislators'

The Cranberry state representative apparently was irked over being accused of threatening a Democratic lawmaker.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Republican State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe of Cranberry again is at odds with what he has termed the “liberal loser Democrat legislators” who sit on the House State Government Committee that he chairs.

One of those legislators, state Rep. Chris Rabb of Philadelphia, wrote a letter to the House’s assistant chief clerk accusing Metcalfe of threatening him after a recent committee meeting. That appears to have prompted a rant on Metcalfe’s official Facebook page Friday in which he targeted Rabb and other Democrats.

Metcalfe contended that Rabb made “false accusations that I threatened him and based it on me possibly being armed because of my support for the 2nd Amendment!”

Metcalfe then asserted there was a “pattern to the attacks” made by Democrats on the state government panel.

“Former Rep. Leslie Acosta who lied about me is now convict Acosta, lying homosexual Rep. Brian Sims has been under investigation, then there is touchy-feely Rep. Matt Bradford who has touched me over 40 times in what many observers have said is an attempt to provoke me,” Metcalfe stated.

Metcalfe garnered national headlines in December for publicly chastising Bradford, of Montgomery County, for briefly touching his arm while speaking to him during a committee meeting. “I’m a heterosexual...I don’t like men as you might so stop touching me all the time,” Metcalfe said at the time.

Metcalfe’s Facebook post then acknowledged that he blocks “all substantive Democrat legislation sent to my committee and advance good Republican legislation! Liberals continue their lying attacks
in an attempt to stop my work in defense of taxpayers and our liberty!”

That admission drew a sharp rebuke from Sincere Harris, executive director of the state Democratic Party.

"Daryl Metcalfe's public admission that he is a partisan hack who abuses his power at the expense of making government better for Pennsylvanians is absolutely disqualifying," Harris said in a statement.
