Seneca Valley Hires 2 New Elementary Assistant Principals
New administrators tapped for Haine, Evans City elementary schools.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Seneca Valley School District has hired new assistant principals for two of its elementary schools. Ashley Porter has been named assistant principal at Haine Elementary School, while Andrew Teti is the new assistant principal at Evans City Elementary.
Mr. Porter comes to Seneca Valley from the Pittsburgh Roosevelt PreK-5 School in the Pittsburgh Public School District, where he served as principal for the past three years. He succeeds Kristen White, who recently promoted to principal at Haine.
A resident of Center Township in Beaver County, Mr. Porter also has experience as a middle school vice principal for Pittsburgh South Brook 6-8 School in the Pittsburgh Public School District, and high school vice principal for Moon Area and Big Beaver Falls School Districts in Allegheny and Beaver counties. Prior to his administrative roles, he was a director of online learning and teacher for Big Beaver Falls.
Porter earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Morgan State University in Baltimore. He holds a Technology Integration K-12 Certification from the Penn State University Beaver Campus and a master’s degree in administrative and policy studies from the University of Pittsburgh.
Teti arrives at Seneca Valley from the Franklin Regional School District, where he is a fourth grade teacher at Heritage Elementary School. He succeeds. Cassie Pencek, who recently took a position with the Fox Chapel Area School District.
A Scott Township resident, Teti also has experience as vice principal at Dunbar Middle School in Dunbar, West Virginia. He previously was an eighth grade math teacher and mathematics department head in the same district. Teti also has been a school technology facilitator, special education support teacher and athletic coach for several sports including tennis, basketball and ice hockey.
Teti has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Westminster College in New Wilmington He hold a master’s degree in educational leadership from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where he is enrolled in the doctoral program for educational leadership
