Seneca Valley Mandates Masks

Seneca Valley becomes the first Butler County school district to require masks for students.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Seneca Valley School District directors voted Monday to approve mandatory masks for students. Masks will be required as long as Butler County is in high or substantial coronavirus community transmission categories as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The move reverses the district's decision earlier this month to recommend masks for students but not require them. The district will return to merely recommending facial coverings when Butler County transmission levels are reduced to moderate or low levels.

Classes for all students begin in the district on Wednesday.
