Seneca Valley Students Win Awards At Slippery Rock Exhibition

Sixteen Seneca Valley High School students were featured at the recent exhibition.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Two Seneca Valley High School students won awards and 14 others were featured at Slippery Rock University’s recent 2018 Regional High School Art Exhibition.

Seniors Sonia Fernandes and Jessie Glatz earned two of the five awards presented during the exhibit reception. Fernandes won the Potter’s Guild Award for her ceramic mug, while Glatz won a jury award for her mixed media painting.

Student work that was also was displayed included seniors Amelia Reese in the categories of printmaking and photography; Evelyn Graham, painting; Kerry Whittle, painting; and Alexis Gorman, ceramics.

Juniors whose work was on display included Max Carpenter, drawing-mixed media; Kelsey Gianfrancesco, mixed media; Paige Biordi, drawing-digital art; Emma Perdue, drawing-digital art; Kate Scanlan, drawing; Lindsey Edwards, drawing; Ella Reynolds, painting; and Allison Jaecke, drawing.

Sophomores who had their work displayed included Ashleigh Patterson, drawing; and Anna Sikora, painting.

All students are under the direction of high school art teachers Jason Woolslare, Jason Shorr and Megan Bonistailli.
