• GIRLS' SWIMMER OF THE YEAR: Stauffer finishes freshman year on a high (citizensvoice.com) — Dallas freshman swimmer Macie Stauffer just capped a standout first season, helping the Mountaineers to a top-eight state finish and earning Girls’ Swimmer of the Year honors. She credits teammates, her sister, and the Dallas Mountaineers Aquatic Club, and is already targeting better turns and underwaters as more local swimmers join the program next year.
   

• Russin pleads guilty to disorderly conduct, ordered back to federal custody (timesleader.com) — A Dallas Township traffic stop and later arrest led to a Luzerne County plea deal where a 55-year-old man admitted to disorderly conduct while more serious charges were dropped. He’ll serve a short county sentence concurrent with a longer federal drug term and be returned to federal custody, following incidents that began with a stop at Overbook and Main roads in Dallas Township.
