• Dalton man snared in undercover sex sting (thetimes-tribune.com) — A 30-year-old Dalton resident was arrested after allegedly going to meet what he believed was a 14-year-old prostitute in Ashley and instead encountering state police. He now faces multiple serious child sex and prostitution-related charges, with bail set at $250,000 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 14. Dalton readers may recognize the Brookside Road address listed in court records.
   

• Greenfield Twp. Police: Dalton driver flees officer, takes off on foot (thetimes-tribune.com) — Greenfield Township police say a Dalton man fled a traffic stop after allegedly using his cellphone while driving and running a stop sign, then tried to escape on foot before being arrested. The Old Trail Road resident is jailed on $15,000 bail and faces fleeing and evading charges, with a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 14. Dalton readers may see increased enforcement on nearby routes 247 and 106.
