• Delco Hospital Gets Worst Safety Grade In The State In New Ratings (patch.com) — Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby has received a “D” safety grade, the lowest score of any rated hospital in Pennsylvania, in new Leapfrog rankings. With Crozer hospitals closed, Mercy Fitzgerald and Riddle in Media are Delco’s last remaining hospitals, making these below-average safety findings especially important for Darby residents who rely on local inpatient care. 
• Suspect denied bail in Upper Darby matricide (delcotimes.com) — A 20-year-old Upper Darby resident has been denied bail after being charged with murdering his mother in their State Road home, following a police investigation that tracked her missing car and phone. The case, now headed toward a preliminary hearing later this month, highlights a disturbing domestic violence incident just next door to Darby.
