• Boone Girl Scouts paint school mural for Bronze Award project (readingeagle.com) — Local Girl Scouts from Daniel Boone Troop 1052 just completed a colorful new U.S. map mural at Daniel Boone Intermediate Center, refreshing a faded playground landmark for younger students. The Douglassville-area girls planned the Bronze Award project themselves, secured donated materials and township support, and say the mural is meant to bring more joy, learning, and community pride to neighborhood kids.
   

• First Schuylkill Shuffle Brings 5K, 10-Miler and Family Loop to Pottstown (montco.today) — Runners and walkers from Douglassville can join the first-ever Schuylkill Shuffle on Oct. 10 in Pottstown, with the 10-mile course crossing the Douglassville Bridge along the Schuylkill River Trail. The fundraiser supports crucial trail maintenance like storm and sinkhole repairs, and offers distances for all ages plus post-race treats and local beer at Pottstown Riverfront Park.
