2 Breweries Near Bucks Co. Among Nation's Elite, Magazine Says

Two breweries within 40 miles of Bucks County, including a tiny operation without a tap room, are among the 15 most elite operations in America this year, according to a popular beer magazine.
The editors at Hop Culture have included Troon Brewing company in Hopewell Township, NJ and Separatist Beer Project in Easton on its exclusive list of just 15 breweries in the nation "to watch" in 2019.
TROON

The editors at Hop Culture describe Troon's beer offerings as "world-class" and impressive given its super small size. This tiny operation is located in Hopewell Township, just outside of Princeton.
Don't go to Troon expecting a tasting and tour, though. The brewery does not have a tap room, and only sells 32 oz cans on site. All draft beers crafted by Troon are sold at Brick Farm Tavern, which is located on the same Hopewell Rocky Hill Road property.

If they sell out of cans, you're out of luck until another day.
"We strictly serve beer to go in pre-filled, 32oz cans and have never served a glass of beer inside the brewery. If we do not have any cans or we sell out of cans we are unable to open/ will close so we must caution you to check Instagram before taking the trip if you only want to purchase cans," the brewery's website cautions.
The founder and head brewer is Alex Helms. He tells Hop Culture there are "big changes" in the works for 2019.
"Combine this with their stellar art, glassware, and consistently excellent beer and you’ve got the makings of a top 2019 brewery," Hop Culture says.
Customers who rated Troon on Facebook seem to be on board with the hype. The brewery has a 4.9 out of 5 rating, with one customer even calling it the best beer they ever had.
"The owner puts his heart and soul into his beers and you can tell! I’ve been to all the top rated breweries and this is my favorite."
SEPARATIST BEER PROJECT
Located in Easton, this brewery formerly operated as SØLE Artisan Ales. It has since gone through a complete rebranding, and the result is very positive, Hop Culture explains.
"The latest offerings we’ve had from Separatist have been great. The brewery has pushed for a more robust barrel-aging and spontaneous fermentation program, plus we’ve had some excellent lagers and farmhouse style beers," the magazine reports.
The brewery explains it prides itself on "utilizing foraged ingredients" to create beer that "transcends the typical frosty pint."
Located at 101 Northampton Street, Separatist also has a location coming soon to 12th and Morris Streets in South Philly.
