5 Fun Things To Do In Bucks County This Weekend

Weekend is packed with things to do including sidewalk sales, a car show, and a program marking the anniversary of the lunar moon landing.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County will be rolling out those "Lazy, Hazy, Days of Summer" this weekend with more than just hot dogs, pretzels, and beer.

Saturday brings one of the biggest car shows of the year to Bucks County when the Doylestown Rotary Club presents its "Doylestown At Dusk" car show spotlighting more than 500 vehicles representing a century's worth of automotive excellence. The show runs from 5 to 10 p.m. on the streets of Doylestown Borough.

Saturday also brings another summertime tradition to the downtown streets of Doylestown - the summer sidewalk sale.

Close to 30 businesses will be taking part in the sale, selling everything from home-baked cookies to toys, books, sports gear, men's and women's apparel and lots more. The sale takes place at participating businesses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during regular business hours.

Car show enthusiasts may want to arrive early to make a day of it, first exploring the shops and grabbing a bite to eat before taking in the car show in the evening.

Doylestown At Dusk Car Show Offers "Spectacular Showcase"

The 15th Annual Doylestown At Dusk Car Show steers into town on Saturday, July 20 with what organizers are calling a "spectacular showcase of automotive excellence." The event, scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. along West Court, West State, South Clinton and Hamilton, promises to be bigger and better than ever, with more than 520 cars, trucks, and motorcycles representing a century of automotive history. Organized by the Doylestown Rotary Club, the event draws between 20,000 and 25,000 visitors, making it one of the largest public events in Doylestown and in Bucks County. This year also marks a special milestone as the Doylestown Rotary Club celebrates its 100th year of "service above self." Click here to read the Patch article.

Summer Sidewalk Sales In Doylestown

From apparel to toys, candy, books, and more, the shops of Doylestown Borough are joining together to present a Summer Sidewalk Sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 19, 20 and 21. Organizers said customers can expect to enjoy some "great deals" during the three-day sale, which will take place inside, outside, or both depending upon weather conditions. "Space Race" At The Fuge To Mark Lunar Landing Anniversary

On Saturday, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Cold War Historical Society presents "The Space Race in Southeastern Pennsylvania —A Celebration of Aerospace Heritage in the Greater Philadelphia Region." The program, held on the 55th anniversary of the first lunar landing (July 20, 1969), will celebrate the aerospace heritage in the Philadelphia region by highlighting early U.S. manned spaceflight history in Bucks County's backyard. The program takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. at The Fuge at 780 Falcon Circle in Warminster and features facility tours, displays and a meet and greet with special guests from 3 to 5 p.m. All three Apollo 11 Astronauts —Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins - were trained at The Fuge. Markets In The Vineyard At Wycombe

A "Sip and Shop" event takes place on Saturday, July 20 from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Wycombe Vineyard, 1391 Forest Grove Road, Furlong 18925. Visitors to the winery will discover treasures from more than 20 local vendors, enjoy live music by Ari Pappalardi, and treat their taste buds at a food truck. "Sip on our estate wines, slushies, and select cocktails from Sator Square Distillery as you browse local artisans, making it a perfect day of shopping, sipping, and savoring," said winery event organizers. The event is free and family-friendly.

Peach and Sunflower Festival At Shady Brook Farm

Shady Brook Farm at 931 Stony Hill Road in Lower Makefield celebrates the delights of summer with its annual Peach & Sunflower Festival on weekends - Saturday and Sunday, July 20, 21, 27 and 28 and again August 3, 4, 10 and 11. Visitors to the farm are invited to pick ripe, juicy peaches, take an Instagram-worthy selfie in a field of brilliant sunflowers, enjoy the fresh air and fun music, and make memories with friends and family. Live music will fill the farm fields from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 with the "Y'all or Nothin'" band and on Sunday, July 21 with the "Electric Stingray."
