5 Fun Things To Do In Bucks County This Weekend
The Burpee Open in Doylestown, Antique and Classic Car Shows in Newtown and Yardley, and Wine on the Waterfront at Washington Crossing.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — July will soon be giving away to August as the summer begins to wane. But before it does, get out there and enjoy a weekend of fun in the sun.
The last weekend in July brings us the Burpee Open, a rare opportunity to see and explore Fordhook Farm in Doylestown Township, the birthplace of the Burpee Company. And the weather is promising to cooperate with mostly sunny skies.
The annual Classic and Antique Auto Show rolls into Newtown on Sunday with some amazing rides spotlighting a century's worth of automotive excellence.

An antique car show is also taking place at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6393 in Lower Makefield on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to cars, the event will feature five food trucks, games, and awards. The show is free. The VFW is located at 1444 Yardley-Newtown Road.
This weekend also brings "Wine On the Waterfront" to historic Washington Crossing. "Sip" back and relax while enjoying wine along the banks of the Delaware River. It's a cool way to spend a summer's evening while supporting the activities at the historic park.

The Magic of Burpee On Display In Bucks County
The W. Atlee Burpee Company will open its Doylestown gardens to the public on Saturday for a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse at the magic of Burpee. Historic Fordhook Farm, where it all began for the international seed producer nearly 150 years ago, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Burpee Open, a free event showcasing Burpee’s seed breeding and trial operations at 105 New Britain Road in Doylestown Township. Visitors are invited to take in the beauty and abundance of the farm’s extensive Kitchen, Heirloom, Veranda and Happiness gardens in addition to its unique Stumpery featuring shade-loving shrubs, perennials and trees. Classic And Antique Car Show Rolls Into Newtown
Classic and antique cars and trucks, representing a century's worth of automotive history, will roll into Newtown on Sunday, July 28 for the highly-anticipated Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show. Presented by the Newtown Business Association, this year's event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on State Street with the town's historic streetscape providing the backdrop for the show. Wine on the Waterfront in Historic Washington Crossing
The 7th Annual Wine on the Waterfront returns to the banks of the Delaware River at 1112 River Road in Washington Crossing on Saturday, July 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. At this tasting event, sip on wine from a number of Pennsylvania and New Jersey wineries, savor the food in a relaxing atmosphere, and hear songs from a local jazz musician while supporting Washington Crossing Historic Park. Summer Art Exhibits Open At Bucks County Community College
Two new art exhibitions - “Dreams of Flora and Fauna” and “Endless Summer” - open this week at the Hicks Art Center Gallery on the Newtown Campus of the Bucks County Community College. In the main gallery, “Dreams of Flora and Fauna,” comprised of the work of 17 local artists, features fanciful, naturalistic, pop, symbolic and abstract scenes of botanic and animal depictions. In the hallways surrounding “Dreams of Flora and Fauna” and in the Atrium Gallery, the exhibition “Endless Summer” features more than 30 local artists’ paintings and sculpture evoking the summer season experience. Bluegrass at the Tileworks Sunday Afternoon In Doylestown
The sounds of bluegrass will fill the courtyard at the Moravian Pottery and Tileworks in Doylestown on Sunday, July 28 with a performance by Mark Cosgrove and Good Medicine featuring Mike Munford with The High and Wides. Pull up a chair or a blanket and enjoy some incredible bluegrass music in the courtyard on a Sunday afternoon. Food and refreshments are available. And furry friends are welcome. The concert begins at 1 p.m. The cost is $40 per person (kids under 12 are admitted for free).
