Accident Involving Overturned Truck Snarls Traffic In Plumstead

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — A hazmat situation involving an overturned truck closed a portion of Route 611 at Route 313 in Plumstead Township just as Tuesday's evening rush was getting underway.

Responding to the scene just after 4 p.m. were Engine 24, Rescue 20, Engine 41, Tanker 41, Ladder 23, Hazmat 89, and Medic 125.

Witnesses at the scene said the accident involved an overturned oxygen tanker.

The Doylestown Township Police Department urged motorists to use caution in the area and to find alternate routes.
