Albert 'Bill' Wiggins, 75, Was A Proud United States Army Veteran

A committal ceremony honoring the life of Bill Wiggins will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in August.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Albert 'Bill' William Wiggins, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the age of 75.

The son of Anna and Albert Wiggins, he was born August 18, 1947 at the Doylestown Hospital and grew up in New Hope. He graduated from New Hope-Solebury High School Class in 1966.

In 1968 at the age of 21, Bill was drafted into the Army. He was an artillery gunman, shooting howitzer cannons. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of staff sergeant.

He fought in the Vietnam War earning two Overseas Bars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Bill took tremendous pride in his longtime career in the trucking industry as a tractor trailer driver. His children will remember riding in his Peterbilt Tractor Trailer, vacationing and living on their Searay boat at Long Beach Island, N.J., and Bill working on and meticulously cleaning his vehicles. He had a passion for cars and getting his hands dirty working on them.

He also enjoyed the companionship of his cat and beloved dog while he indulged in Western or Military TV shows and movies. In his late years, he and his wife enjoyed taking road trips to the Palm Coast in the sunshine state.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Albert; and brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Amy; children, William (Heather) and Nicole Anna; step-children, Ricky, Tiffany (Sean), and Tammy (Rob); grandchildren, Hailey, Brandon, and Harper; step-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Dominique, and Carter; great grandchild, Colton; sister, Nancy (John); brother, Gordon; and many loving family members, and friends.

A committal ceremony honoring the life of Bill Wiggins will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on 830 Highland Road, Newtown 18940 on Monday August 21, 2023 at a prompt 9:45 a.m.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to K9s for Warriors or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
